The Folkestone White Horse
The Folkestone White Horse is a much-loved local landmark and is a powerful symbol of Britain's a Celtic heritage and Folkestone's creativity.

Created to celebrate the millennium
Designed by artist Charles Newington, the horse draws inspiration from ancient chalk carvings found across the UK, connecting Folkestone to Britain's Celtic past while standing proudly as a modern monument.
Folkestone White Horse Construction
Completed in June 2003, the Folkestone horse is about 91 meters long and is made from buried chalk / limestone slabs.
The horse has been carefully positioned to avoid disturbing the natural environment, and it now stands as a guardian of the land, helping to protect and celebrate this unique landscape.
